Surprise, Surprise

I'm still here. In Pigtown. Yeah, yeah...I talked a lot of trash and was 99.99% sure that I would have relocated by now, but let's say I was made an offer that I'd be nuts to refuse. So, although I may move and rent the house out eventually, I won't be leaving Pigtown this year.

However, the neighborhood's garbage and miscreants are still out of control, and it's a matter of making lemonade out of the lemon that Pigtown is.

So, if you can't change something, you change your perception, right? Anyone reading right now that has had any luck with that?

I am on Nanticoke. What ideas do you think we could do to keep our area clean? I really want to change where we live.

Hi Mark! Sorry for the super late response. As for your interest in cleaning up, there used to be a weekly clean up team of volunteers (with a garbage truck) every Saturday. It was great, but the head organizer left Baltimore. So, now it's all about "individual effort." I became overambitious last summer and thought that I'd try to tackle cleaning my block and surrounding areas, but it became so overwhelming for me, that I stopped. Fortunately, the cold weather months have a decrease in street trash, but it'd be great to have the city place bins on every other corner. All those plastics and bags going in the drains depresses me immensely. People just don't seem to care.
